Elite is Made.. Not Born

Jared Stohl is the founder of D-1 Elite. Jared grew up loving the game of basketball and dedicated many hours a day to his dream of one day playing professional ball.  He attended Marysville-Pilchuck High School where he received a scholarship for the University of Portland.  Here he played for the University of Portland Pilots, where he set the the career record for 3 pointers made in 4 years (336).  He is still  holds the standing currently of 3rd all time in the WCC.

If this wasn't enough, he also held the University of Portland's record for most 3’s made in one game  (10) and in 2010 he led the nation in 3pt percentage at (.478) while averaging 2.9 3pt makes per game. Currently he is #20 all time.    (To put this into perspective, he is right behind guys like Ray Allen #14, Kyle Korver #10 and Steve Novak #7 for career 3pt percentage)!

After college Jared played professionally in Germany for one year.  Here, he was considered "instant offense" and was second in the league for 3’s averaging 9.0ppg in just 14 min of play. After suffering a back injury the next year, he decided to hang up the shoes and pick up a whistle and clipboard.  He came back to his home of Marysville, WA where he fell in love with coaching and teaching  his craft to young aspiring ballers.

Jared created D1 Elite for children 4th-HS grade with a dream of helping guide young athletes to the basketball journey awaiting them after High School.  He himself had seen what hard work, dedication, commitment and skill development had done for his own career and wanted to create this path for others.

In his own words, Jared states "For me I never had the size, strength or uncanny jumping ability.  I had to make up for all of that with my ability to shoot the basketball. This was something that did not come naturally. I had to dedicate myself to it. Not only does it require time, but you must know the right things to work on otherwise you are wasting your time. I have studied and learned from the best and now I’m offering my insights and workout plans to all aspiring ballers. "  -.Jared Stohl

D1 Elite has proven to be an extremely effective club, developing multiple players that have gone on to follow their dreams with college scholarships.  While shooting is Jared's specialty, he works to perfect other areas of the game as well such as, offensive drives, hesitations, footwork to own the court and create moves worthy of record setting achievements.
